We provide the expertise required for effective dispute management across all types of claims and investigations – from contractual and tortious claims through to complex domestic and multi-jurisdictional commercial matters. We have specific expertise in shareholder and partnership disputes and contentious company law matters.

Our clients include national and international companies, banks and financial institutions, domestic and international insurers, product manufacturers and airlines. We regularly represent clients in large complex contentious commercial litigation matters in the Commercial Court in Dublin. We have experience in handling cases involving large scale discovery.

Relevant Experience
  • Advising in a high-profile series of related Commercial Court proceedings arising from a dispute involving the shareholders of Web Summit, including claims of shareholder oppression and breach of a profit share agreement.

  • Acting for a creditor in the enforcement in Ireland of a substantial judgment of a US court including obtaining pre and post judgment mareva injunctive relief and the appointment of a receiver over the debtor’s shareholding in an Irish company.

  • Acting for defendants in Commercial Court proceedings in respect of a breach of  warranty claim arising from a Share Purchase Agreement.

  • Acting for insurers in the defence of Commercial Court proceedings brought by aircraft lessors alleging an entitlement to insurance cover for aircraft allegedly lost following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

  • Acting for a client in the fintech sector in a dispute with a payment services provider.

  • Acting for an ICAV in the defence of proceedings brought by a service provider arising from the sale of a valuable property.

  • Acting for a US financial institution in Commercial Court proceedings arising from the bankruptcy of a high-net-worth Irish individual.

  • Acting for a number of clients in taking evidence in Ireland pursuant to a request for international judicial assistance made by way of letters rogatory under the Foreign Tribunals Evidence Act 1856, involving two separate high value sets of proceedings in the United States.

  • Advising a health care facility in relation to significant structural defects with the building from which the facility operates, in particular fire safety defects. This included assisting with the investigative stage to establish liability for the defects and issuing High Court proceedings on behalf of the client against the architects involved in the construction of the care facility.

  • Representing the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland in a dispute relating to a liability for a large volume of claims following the collapse of Setanta Insurance.
