Our Loan Portfolio team is one of Ireland's is a leading advisers on the acquisition, disposal and management of non-performing loans (NPLs) and performing loans since the late 1990s
The group offers an integrated service, combining the expertise of our Banking and Capital Markets, Tax, Regulatory, Insolvency, Real Estate and Corporate and M&A teams.
Our multi-disciplinary service covers all elements of the acquisition, disposal of loan portfolios, including due diligence; remediation of issues prior to sale; and advising on all structuring, tax, legal and regulatory issues that arise during and following the sale transaction.
The Firm was one of the key advisers to the Irish National Asset Management Agency on the sale of some of Europe’s largest distressed asset portfolio sales following the Irish financial crisis and we continue to act for some of the most active participants in the market.
We regularly advise international and domestic financial institutions, distressed asset funds, special situation funds and other service providers and agencies involved in the disposal, acquisition, financing and/or management of loan portfolios.
We advise loan servicers on their legal and regulatory obligations in connection with the management of loan portfolios.
Relevant Experience
Advising Lagado Assets IE IV Limited on the acquisition of multiple loan portfolios and the subsequent warehouse financing and securitisation of a portfolio of over 3,000 non-performing loans.
Advising on the acquisition of various loan portfolios originated by PTSB, AIB, KBC, Ulster Bank and Bank of Scotland.
Advising on the third party financing of the acquisition of loan portfolios.
